WIAW: One Year!

Today (the 29th) is my one-year blogiversary! I didn't get the time to write the post that I wanted to with all the fun happenin's in my life in the past year, but hopefully that will be up sometime soon (for now, you can check out my embarrassing first post... hahaha always a good laugh!) Also, stay tuned for a giveaway to celebrate my one year of blogging - I am so grateful for all the comments I receive and all of the amazing people I've 'met' along the way. You all mean the world to me! 

Anyway, let's get onto the eats, shall we? Thanks to Jenn for hosting, as always! 


breakfast #1: a spelt cracker with almond butter and apple butter

workout: 6am BodyPump - for some reason I was really feelin' the burn today! the squats and lunges actually had my legs on fire for once, and of course the bicep track always murders me ;) 

my new favorite pair of shoes: i got some new nike frees over the long weekend and i am in LOVE! they are so much comfier than my old frees, look WAY cooler, and were 100% worth the $97 of my hard-earned money that i spent on them. 


breakfast #2: a grande blonde roast from starbucks and a cup of 2% greek yogurt with apple butter stirred in, topped with almond meal and sprinkles (of course!). the only way i managed to drag my booty outta bed this morning was that i told myself i could stop and get coffee on the way home - and it was delicious. so worth the 5:30am wakeup call! 


outfit: a new sundress from target! it's really comfy and flattering - such a good deal for $20!


lunch: a whole wheat sammie with turkey and laughing cow, pressed in my panini maker. sides were strawberries (so delicious right now!!) and some sour cream and onion popchips. 


exciting mail of the day: 


finally got my starbucks gold card in the mail! i should probably be embarrassed by how excited i was to finally get the card, but i just love coffee too much! 

snack: a crapton of watermelon, and two mini tortillas with almond butter and mini chocolate chips that i heated up in the microwave. aka heaven in my mouth- these were SO good! 



dinner: a big salad with mixed greens, cucumber, carrot, mushrooms, red onion, chickpeas, cheddar cheese, grilled chicken, croutons, and hummus


how it really looked before i ate it: (i feel like this is true with all of my meals... hahaha ugly but delicious!)


i'm off to scrounge up some dessert - probably a cookie or some ice cream!

Project Procrastination

well folks, i've hit the final stretch of my high school days! i am unbelievably excited.. and also unbelievably lazy. since AP testing is over, most of my teachers are assigning LOTS of extremely pointless projects. i'm working on quite a few of them this weekend - fingers crossed i'll actually be productive! 

the past week has been filled with lots of delicious eats:


if you haven't frozen chobani before, GO DO IT NOW. so delicious! i just stir it up, stick it in the freezer for about half an hour (stirring every 10ish minutes) and then you have a yummy frozen treat!


breakfast this morning: tortilla with almond butter (duh) and fresh strawberries (so good right now!)


i'm a little embarrassed at how many trips i've made to starbucks in the past week... they've definitely got me hooked! my latest favorite (nonfat cappuccino, 2 pumps vanilla, 1 shot, extra hot please!) is quite the expensive treat - good thing I have a job! 


a new find - organic whole wheat cheddar pumpkin seed crackers. my mom got them so i'm not sure what brand they are but they sure are delicious! 


i had some laughing cow and an egg on one and the flavor combination was awesome!

some heart-pumpin workouts:
monday: day off
tuesday: morning BodyPump + 40 minutes on the stairclimber in the afternoon

wednesday: morning BodyCombat and CXWorxx (core) classes
thursday: 4-mile run
friday: 45 minutes on the stairclimber
saturday: walk with my momma!

can you tell i liked the music from the glee finale?!? for you gleeks out there, what did you think? i was completely bawling by the end of the episode. i think it hit me especially hard too because i'm going through graduation in just a few weeks!

i did have to get dressed up on wednesday for a district string festival (i'm in my school's orchestra, but i play flute, so i just had to help usher at the festival!)

reading the letter i wrote to myself in 8th grade:


it was an insanely long 7 pages (the one above is just quotes that i liked back then!)! in 8th grade, my english teacher had us all write the letters and address them, and then she sent them to us around when we were graduating high school. it was so cool (and weird!) to read mine! 

and redo-ing my blog header! what do you guys think? i love it! 

off to enjoy the rest of the weekend! my plans include having a middle school reunion sleepover with some of my old best friends, hanging out with my guy, getting massages with my momma, working, and getting some of these projects done!

WIAW: Double Day.

i thought it would be fun to do a 'day in the life' sort of post for you guys again, so here we go! (as always, thanks to jenn for hosting WIAW!) also, i apologize for the iPhone pics- my camera's battery is dead!


5:30 am: alarm goes off. i was *thisclose* to just going back to sleep, but somehow i managed to convince myself to get out of bed (maybe sleeping in most of my workout gear helped?!?). i got all my stuff together, ate a spelt crisp with a thick layer of peanut butter and apple butter, and headed out the door.


6:00am: BodyPump class! This was my first 6am class since before track season in February, and it was SO nice to not be super crowded like it always is on the weekends. the lunge track definitely killed me!

7:15am: home for breakfast. i stopped on the way and got my new favorite drink from the money sucker starbucks - nonfat cappuccino with 2 pumps of vanilla, 1 shot, and extra hot! i also had some scrambled eggs with ketchup. i never eat eggs without ketchup....



7:45am: shower, throw on some shorts and a tshirt, pile my hair on the top of my head in a bun, and dash downstairs to quickly pack some food before leaving the house. i was definitely running behind today! i also wore my green converse (and figured that this picture was wayyyy better than my ragamuffin outfit, haha!)


8:30am: class.....it's so boring nowadays- only 3 weeks left and then it's graduation! i am SO EXCITED for this summer!!

12pm: lunchtime! we are super low on food in my house right now, so i packed some frozen berries (we were basically out of fresh fruit!), a packet of almond butter, and a to-go bowl of kashi golean that i added some low fat milk to at lunch.


2pm: out of school early on Tuesdays, woop woop! i wasn't having that great of a day- just one of those days- and since i hadn't done any cardio in the morning, i figured that i would feel better after i sweat a little bit at the gym. so that's where i went! i can't remember the last time i did two workouts in one day but today it definitely was a good idea. i did 40 minutes on the stairclimber, then about 5 on the elliptical to loosen up my legs, and then stretched and foam rolled. and walked out the door of the gym in an entirely different mood- it's crazy how much i love sweat!


3:30pm: home, and starving! i made a ginormous tropical smoothie with 1 1/2 c. frozen berries, 2 scoops vanilla protein powder, 1 tbsp flaxmeal, 1 tbsp lime juice, and about 1 cup of this new Fuze drink that my family got a big pack of at costco.



4pm: shower and then i tackled a bunch of stuff on my todo list. three cheers for actually being productive today! i've been quite the procrastinator lately (what senior isn't?!?) so i felt quite proud of myself for actually getting stuff done!

6pm: writing this blog post, catching up on reading blogs, pinning lots of stuff on Pinterest, and seriously wishing that i lived on the east coast......


7pm: dinner time! i actually snacked my way through the afternoon a little too much (i had another suzie's crisp with almond butter, some cereal, and some dark chocolate) - i think because i worked out so much today! i wasn't too hungry when dinnertime came around, so i just cooked up two fried eggs with laughing cow, and also had a banana with almond butter and dark chocolate shavings.



looking back on this post, i'm realizing that i didn't eat any veggies today! :( happens to the best of us, right? i think a grocery store trip is definitely in order for tomorrow!

9pm: snuggling with my baby girl, and GLEE!!!!!!!! and then crash in bed.

Highlights of My Weekend.

after an extremely long and exhausting week, i am so happy i got a weekend to just relax!!

some highlights..
  • eating copious amounts of this peanut butter... addicted.
  • wearing shorts and tanks in the sunny weather 

  • eating pizza and watching movies with my boyfriend after i got off work on friday
  • going to BodyPump for the first time in a week and feelin' the burn!
  • spending 2 hours on the couch watching the 2-hour glee episode from tuesday

  • eating chocolate stonyfield froyo with the aforementioned peanut butter and some pretzels. heaven. 
  • chilling on my couch and reading seventeen magazine.. and coming across some pretty awesome quotes!
  • lovin on my boos
  • spending far too much time on pinstagram ;)
  • going to whole foods and stocking up on my staples- bars, vanilla chobani, dark chocolate (yes that is a staple!!), suzie's crisps, and (unpictured) 2 jars of barney butter

  • giving my mom her belated mother's day presents (I had to work on mother's day last weekend) and seeing her reaction to the ginormous teddy bear we got her! :)

  • sleeping in late and enjoying sunday morning- breakfast, cappuccino (i'm becoming wayyy too addicted to these!!), and snoozing in the hammock in the sun.
