WIAW: Back to the Gym!

{psstt.. check out my last post- there's lotsa pictures from my senior ball last weekend!!}

this week I welcomed back an old friend... my GYM! because of track season, i'd only been able to take a class once every 1-2 weeks and by the middle of the season, i was seriously craving going to the gym. my last track meet was last week so this week i've got my whole workout schedule planned with lots of different workouts.

but before i get to my workout, let's back up to breakfast (it is WIAW after all!)


i had a tortilla with barney butter and a vanilla chobani with sprinkles. because every yogurt deserves sprinkles!



i had my AP Gov test today (yeahhhh don't wanna talk about it...yowza! not fun) so i brought a mini Luna bar to snack on during our break.


and lunch was a banana, a hummus+colby jack sandwich, and some baked kettle barbecue potato chips


right after school i drove straight to the gym and it was blissfully empty! i'm used to going when it's crowded on the weekends, so it was SO nice to finally get a stairclimber - they're always all full whenever i go.


i did 20 minutes and then one of my friends randomly showed up so i stayed on an extra 20 minutes to work out with her. 40 minutes on the stairclimber=leg burner! afterwards i wanted to shake out my legs a little so i did 2 miles of HIIT on the treadmill. then i did a few arm weights and ab exercises (can you tell i'm excited to be back at the gym?!?!) before heading home. i was definitely a happy sweaty mess!


also, on a completely random note, super proud of how strong my arms are getting! it's taken a year to get here and there's still lots of improvement but i love them. :)

post-workout i made a big smoothie with 2 scoops vanilla protein powder, 1 cup frozen berries, 1 cup almond milk, and 2 tbsp lemon juice:

then i had to shower up and head to my final orchestra performance of the year! 4 years of being in the music program and now it's basically over..SO weird!! life is a changin' fast around here.

when i finally got home, i had a quesdilla with cheddar and salsa, and a salad with sliced deli turkey.



and then i faceplanted in bed.

WIAW: Good Mood.

i'm joining the WIAW party again this week!! {well, more like a WIAM since these are all the eats and happenins from monday!} monday was an all around awesome day- one of those ones where everything seems to be going your way, ya know? :)


breakfast was some suzie's corn crisps with a big scoop of barney butter for spreading:

i wore the new shirt i bought over the weekend (at loehmann's, love that store! this shirt was only $17!) and it was perfect for the heat. light, comfy, and breathable- and i love the polka dots (they're kinda hard to see in these pictures)!


i brought my favorite salad from TJ's for lunch- it has chicken, slivered almonds, rice noodles, and an awesome sesame dressing! 


school was pretty fantastic because i literally did nothing in almost every single class. i've already taken my AP calc and AP econ finals (AP tests this week and next week! ah!) and the only other two classes i'm doing anything in are anatomy and english. 

track practice was HOT but nice and short since we're in taper mode for the meet on thursday. we just did a long warmup, and 1x300, 1x200, and 1x100 fast, cool down, and done! 

i got a 1/2 price (WOOP WOOP!) frappucino as a post-workout treat and it tasted so good! i got a light mocha coconut one and it was amazing! if you're a coconut fan, go get this. now. you'll thank me later :) 


since i wasn't working monday night i stopped at target and whole foods for some much needed groceries and a few other items on my way home. i also picked up these nail strips that i'm thinking i might use for my senior ball on saturday! 


aand, to top my already amazing day off, i came home to a package on the front door step. i ordered some new running headphones and these are awesome! they don't move at all, are sweat-resistant, and the sound quality is so much better than the apple headphones. i also got a book that i have to read for english (along with tuesdays with morrie) and i think it'll actually be interesting.

dinner was whole foods salad bar toppings that i picked up on my way home on a bed of mixed greens.


carrots, mushrooms, onions, chickpeas, kidney beans, cucumbers, chicken, feta, and hummus. 

dessert was a big bowl of (on sale!) stonyfield froyo. a great end to a fantastic day!

2 awesome track races this week!
i ran both the 1600 and 800 at our last dual meet this week and killed both of my races! i didn't run in the scoring heat for either, so i came in 1st in the 1600 and 2nd in the 800 (and in the 800, i passed a girl from our rival school at the last second that i'd been chasing for basically the entire race!). i qualified for the league championship trials next week, which will probably be my last track meet ever. WEIRD! i'm excited, though!!
1 thing i desperately need:
to decide on what hairstyle i'm going to go with for my senior ball! it's next weekend (i'm STOKED!) and i know that i want my hair down and curly, but even after spending lots of time on Pinterest trying to find a good photo for my hairstylist, i don't have anything yet. i want something along the lines of this..
so if you have any good curly hairstyle photos/pins/ideas, let me know!!\
