Mizuno Wave Sayonara {Review}

All opinions, as always, are my own.

I'm so grateful to have received the opportunity through FitFluential to try out the Wave Sayonara, Mizuno's newest shoe that will be released on July 5th. I was literally jumping with excitement when my shoes arrived!

beauties.
The first thing I noticed was the color. I absolutely LOVE bright running shoes and these ones are the cutest. My mom wanted to steal them from me because she loved the way they looked so much (um, yeah. So not giving these babies up. Ever.).

As soon as I stopped admiring how cool the shoes looked, I took them out for a test run. I actually ran faster and a little bit farther (5 miles) than I have in quite awhile because the shoes were so light and comfortable. It seriously felt like I was running on air! The Wave Sayonara is Mizuno's  "lightest everyday training shoe" yet, with men's shoes weighing 8.1 oz and women's weighing 7.1 oz. I could really tell the difference between this shoe and the other running shoes that I have.

Some other technical details about the Wave Sayonara:

  • Versatile and performance neutral with "as-needed" support elements
  • U4ic midsole delivers optimal shock attenuation, durability, and superior ride that is 30% lighter than AP+
  • U4ic is innovatively light and well cushioned
  • G3 Sole features lightweight, superior traction
  • Mizuno Wave Technology provides the perfect balance of lightweight cushioning and stability
  • Blown rubber sole for optimal flexibility

  • If any of that was confusing to you, you can actually go to the Mizuno website to the Mezamashii page where there's an interactive drawing board of the shoes that allows you to see what all of the above was about.

    Speaking of Mezamashii, the word means "brilliant" or "eye-opening" in Japanese. The Mezamashii Run Project by Mizuno is a project to "help create a more euphoric running experience - a more "brilliant" run - for more runners everywhere."

    I love the ideas behind the project - check out the video below of what Mezamashii means to three project members. It's so inspirational!

    Like I said above, I'm completely in love with these shoes. They're comfortable, lightweight, fast, and overall just a really great shoe. They go on sale on July 5, and if I were you... I'd get my hands on some. They're just that awesome.

    What does mezamashii running mean to you?
