Why No More Track Updates?

Hi guys! Man oh man has it been a crazy week. Getting back to working hard after spring break was definitely tough!

I had a track meet on Thursday, and while I was there I got to thinking about why I haven't posted any track updates in awhile. I realized that I was honestly dreading writing the posts because I just didn't enjoy writing them all that much.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE running, but I felt like I was basically saying the same thing over and over again in all my previous posts. In addition, having a set time where I felt like I had to blog because I'd just had a meet wasn't making me happy. It's just not my blogging style. I'd rather blog when I feel like I have something to say, a fun update or recipe, or something that's been going on in my life lately. My style is kind of spontaneous, but I LIKE it that way.

In addition, this track season has really been so much more about fun than anything else. I'm not really close to PRing, and I'm okay with that! My life is kinda crazy right now, I'm a second semester senior in high school, and I just want to enjoy it. I want to go on silly runs with my friends and not have to worry that I'm not getting enough mileage in to improve, etc. So that's what I've been doing.

I have so many other things in my life to stress out about that adding trying to improve my track times and blog about it at the same time was just too much. Basically, I'm not worried about meeting any of my goals for the track season, because I had really high expectations going in. Once I realized that everything was just too much to handle and stressing me out like crazy, I knew I had to stop pushing myself so hard to improve.

So that's basically the reasons why I decided to stop blogging about track. But no fear, I will most definitely be here often with all of the other stuff I love (recipes, weekend countdown posts, WIAW, and other fun stuff!).

have an amazing weekend, my friends!

  1. I totally feel ya! I was pretty much just taking this season as a "just for fun season", though it looks like I'm out again :( still it's silly to blog just because you think you're supposed to so I'm glad you're not forcing yourself to!

  2. When you post about something you're not all that interested about, your readers can tell <--- biggest thing to remember! Keep the good stuff coming and focus on track for fun!
